Bay Area Flea Markets for Winter 2014
The Bay Area offers several major flea markets that operate through the winter months, giving Sacramento-area collectors additional options for day trips.
Treasure Island Flea
Operating on the final weekend of each month, this venue draws approximately 15,000 visitors monthly despite its relatively young three-year history. Located at 1 Avenue of the Palms on Treasure Island, it runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with complimentary parking.
The market was established to support local artists and entrepreneurs, featuring craftspeople, designers, and food vendors. Note that the market was closed throughout December 2014.
Berkeley Flea Market
Open Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ashby BART Station Parking Lot. Convenient access for public transportation users seeking vintage merchandise and collectibles.
Jack of All Trades Market, Oakland
Held on the second Saturday monthly at Jack London Square from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This venue combines shopping with live entertainment and food service, including craft beer options. Dogs are welcome.
San Jose Flea Market
Operating since 1960, this expansive market hosts over 6,000 vendors and accommodates roughly 4 million annual visitors. Open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from dawn to dusk at 1590 Berryessa Road. Parking fees are $7 (free before 9 a.m. on weekends) or $3 on weekdays.
DASB Flea Market, Cupertino
The De Anza College-operated market runs the first Saturday monthly from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It boasts 825 vendor stalls and attracts 15,000 to 20,000 shoppers on favorable weather days during its 30-year operating history.
